….but dress up like a princess….

Education, parenting, even friends often talk AT you. They hope to teach you, out of love, out of care. But they often fail to seek to communicate with you. Somewhere hiding behind the desire to help hides all those other parts of an individual that make them unprepared to have a conversation. And there is fear.

This is different than having a discussion. Having a conversation. These are true forms of communication. And when you talk WITH someone, it is an opportunity for education as well as learning. On both sides. Because you might find that the things you hope to “educate” somebody on are things they know something about. Maybe more than you. They might be going through it.
